Its funny the small differences in speech. Personally I never say double 8 or whatever when saying numbers, I'd just say 88. You do hear it very often though.

The rest of it is pretty accurate. When I was younger I and others very often counted with elephant as the gap between numbers ;D

And yeah coming to think of it, I've never heard of any house number greater than 1000 in the UK. You get used to odd and even house numbers being on different sides as well, although its only like this for streets which are through roads, so you can go in and out at either side. If you live on a road like I do, with lots of dead ends (cul-de-sacs) and only one way in or out the house numbers just go up in order.

I think it's fascinating that just a couple hundred years of the populations being separate has yielded so many differences already. Minor as they may be. Though I would say it's pretty clear that other languages from the other European powers who influenced America long ago had a hand in it.

On that point though, we've both been heavily influenced by Europeans, just at different times. We can trace a lot of our language back to the Anglo-Saxons and then the Normans later on, with some influence from the Vikings and others as well. So at its roots our language is a mix of old Norwegian, French, German, Dutch etc.

But then those languages all evolved and the US had European languages mixed with English at a later date which has created a slightly different language in present day

I love thinking about how every country in Europe is so unique, often having their own language even.

Then in America our 50 states are practically identical by comparison. The interconnectedness of the world and lack of historical background really forced us into a giant melting pot. Once Mars and the like are colonised, we'll probably have whole planets that more or less have the same culture.

Baseball sized hail, and something about Armageddon.

Really bad storms, tornadoes and hail. Baseball sized is probable 80 mph winds.

I always find it fun to learn these differences.
Or when you are like "what is an extra credit?  Is it edible?"
Lol, well not exactly.

Got myself a new gaming headset 8)

Usually $80 at the store, it was on sale due to Memorial day for like $38.99.

For some reason it was $39.99 online for best buy but the store was selling it for a dollar less o.O
