From eye witness reports it was a full auto. Which is illegal, with a clip size that is also illegal, in an gun free zone.

Its more of an issue of how guns are used, so taking away guns isn't going to solve anything.

Rates of other types of violent crime will rise in place of gun crimes. Violent crime per capita is actually higher in Europe than in the US despite the former having more restrictive firearm laws. Also, Vermont has the least restrictive gun laws, but it has the least gun murders per capita in the US.
