Anyone here played Xenosaga? I'm thinking of hopping into it.

I have all 3 of the Xenosaga games on PS2.

I beat the first one and played halfway through the 2nd one (bad habit back then when I use to quit RPGs halfway XD).

Anyways Xenosaga is pretty fun - the story is really deep and the music is amazing. I recommend it!

Alright. I hear the second one is the underdog of the trilogy, and the third one is the best. I'll have to keep this in mind. How is the gameplay by the way?

Yeah the second one is really weird - ironically its very similar in design to FFXIII (no NPC interaction, shops, etc).

Gameplay in Xenosaga Episode 1 is like a combination of Valkyrie Profile (you can have 4 types of attacks), you got your ether attacks (which are magic spells) and there is a little turn map (indicator similar to Final Fantasy X where it shows you who will go next in turn) and they got this thing called "Boost Gauge" which increases as you attack more or do certain commands and lets you go another turn before the boss kinda like intercepting attacks if I remember right o.O.

Oh and the Mech system is kinda similar to what they had in Xenogears.

Shame the series ended in a cliffhanger from what I heard due to developmental hell and all sorts of issues going on with the dev group :/

Nah there was supposed to be more games but the dev group broke up after several issues (mainly being III selling poor as well)

Supposedly Episodes IV, V and VI were in the works or ideas were being made but were all cancelled by Namco.

Any chance of a Xenosaga sequel after III is gone since Nintendo now owns Monolithsoft and the "Xeno" series is pretty much being reimagined in their point of view (i.e. Xenoblade).

e3 trailer shows a hologram of the Zohar in the background. I haven't gotten that far in Xenosaga, but they said that they abandoned earth for some reason. This might be explained, but if not then that's exactly how cross starts.
