Except that isn't the case.  They actually did go to Sony, but Sony still hadn't finalized the PS4 hardware yet and they weren't willing to share it yet.  They were willing to fund the game if they switched it to Vita though O_O

The video that was on Gametrailers with what's his name.  Apparently anyways.  I never watched the post mortem video they made for it.  That was one of the highlights.

Raven

That seems a little suspect considering that there were plenty of third-party games that were in development for and released earlier than Titanfall. So they had no problem making their games for PS4 despite Sony holding back but Respawn did? Unless there is a dang good reason why Respawn needed the final specs, I don't buy it.

Whether it's true or not, I doubt Respawn would say that Sony would fund a Vita port instead of a PS4 port if it wasn't somewhat true.

Ludicrous Speed

They approached Sony for info on the PS4 but were asked about making a Vita version instead (LOL). This is what lead to the original timed exclusive deal they had with MS, they simply didn't know enough about the PS4. But after multiple iterations of their next game, they started running low in money. They didn't want to go to EA and ask for more money because they knew EA would ask for the IP and more control in exchange for more money, so the deal with MS was reached. At least that's what the developers say.

it's a shame it never hit PS3 at least, since that was the only reason they went with the engine they did..

I actually had a lot of fun in the first game, so hopefully the sequel will be even better.
