but flop. So now we can remove "no glasses support", "looks ugly" and "bad graphics" from kitler's list.

Also the reprojection tech Sony is using is really really nice. Even 30fps games could be displayed in VR with very good results. Reprojection is also the reason why Sony has such incredibly low latency.

Basically the headset sends its motion data to the PS4. The PS4 renders the frame for that position. By the time that frame is rendered though, your head has slightly moved. So this is where the magic happens.

The special sauce takes the most up to date motion data, and then uses it to modify the rendered frame. It reprojects it based off where you are now, not where you were when the frame was rendered. To increase the framerate, it just reprojects multiple times for the same rendered image.

Thus a 60fps game playing on PM has true 120fps motion tracking and super low latency. The only negative of it compared to native 120fps content using reprojection, is that the "animations" are still 60 fps.

TLDR: Uncharted 4 in VR baby!

Is still having a hard time understanding how that works.

Basically in effect the game has two framerates. One is for camera rotation, while the other is for everything else.

At the top of r/pcmasterrace is a post right now that's just a screenshot of some dude on reddit saying he works for a big dev and that his company has no interest in developing for the PM and that he thinks it'll fail.

You gotta think about this for a second, this whole PC sub is essentially circlejerking about the idea of a VR headset failing because it doesn't come to their platform of choice, that is the definition of pathetic.

Can't link it right now unfortunately, reddits servers are apparently too busy.

Yeah it's strange how many people think PS4 is too weak for VR.

It's the same thing that happened to Bloodborne lulz. The same thing will happen again with Uncharted 4.

Sweet. This makes me really want a Deus Ex game for Morpheus!

Here's a link now: http://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/2xwfmk/professional_game_dev_explains_why_sonys_morpheus/

I personally don't find it too strange with the internet, especially with a place like reddit that is full of PC gamers (which in itself isn't bad of course) and also teenagers with an apparent inferiority complex of some sort and if those 2 overlap you get something like the above.

I'm not gonna act as if I have 100% confidence in PM or any VR device at all, nor that I have any technical knowledge of all this, but I'm majorly annoyed by all these people acting as if they are professional programmers that know how all this shame works, when at the end of the day all their arguments can be boiled down to "the PS4 is too weak, PCs are more powerful".

Wait and see should be the approach for now, not this whole "this is all going to be shame because it's on PS4".

Goddammit I should stop visiting that sub. :D

I'd like to see a microphone on the headsets.
What if you could take input of something like you breathing and have the game amplify it and use it for whatever the situation calls for.

It has one.

Second half of the video shows the london heist game.

cool stuff, i was wondering how that was going to work.  this is what they did in killzone?  is there any reason this tec couldn't be applied to all games to reach 60fps?
