Figured this should be a thing. Any books you guys want to talk about.

I just read The Illiad. My favorite book is probably 1984 or maybe Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter
All aboard the hype train.

I barely remember 1984. Probably read it 8 years ago.

Can we talk about comics?

On another note, I remember taking science fiction class in university.  It was pretty pro.  Off the top of my head, we read War of the Worlds, My Stars my Destination, iRobot(Didn't read), Dune (Didn't read, watched mini series), The Brown Girl in the Ring, The Man in the High Castle and Oryx and Crake.

My Stars my Destination was awesome.  Took the plot of the Count of Monte Cristo but re-worked it in space and used mind teleportation.

The Brown Girl in the Ring was cool for me to read because it took place in Toronto.  It was in an alternate future where the police abandoned Toronto and there's chaos.  Uses caribbean folklore, I think.  Voodoo gods were used.  I think the same ones used in the Princess and the Frog.

The Man in the High Castle was interesting.  It was an alternate universe where the nazis won.  U.S. was taken over from Japan and everything was martial law.  There was also space travel, since Germans are crazy good in science apparently.

Oryx and Crake was just iced up.

Instead of the essay, I asked my teacher if I could write a story instead.  She said yes.  That was a lot of fun too.  I hammered out the plot with one of my coworkers from skating(I was a supervisor for public skate at an arena.)  We ripped off Final Fantasy where Squall and Cloud had to go like, take care of some tings.  Then they were betrayed by Vincent :O!  Who killed Arieth.  I then renamed everyone.  I was Squall :D.  Fun times.
