Or at least it might unless we all stand up against it.

You've most likely heard about this before but if you haven't, here's a recap.

Comcast and other isp companies want to turn the internet into a form of cable tv. The big websites will pay extra money to Comcast and keep things the way they are, while smaller companies that can't pay the fee get throttled into a slowed down version of the web.

For VizionEck that'd mean pages would load slower than say vgchartz(assuming they payed) regardless of how optimized or ad free I make the website.

So spread the word and contact your congressmen. Here's one site of many dedicated to the cause: https://www.battleforthenet.com/

There's actually a lot of outrage already. Basically every company except Comcast and the cable companies is against it. Netflix, Kickstarter, IBM, Google, Facebook, Panasonic, Intel, Cisco, Tumbler, Microsoft, AOL, Level 3, Dish, Amazon, Ebay, Reddit, Twitter, Linkedin, GitHub, Imigur, Ustream, Mozilla, etc.

Last Week Tonight's video of it actually caused the FCC website to crash due to how many people complained:

Wasn't this avoided when Obama decided that Internet is a utility?

Obama is not the government. Congress still has to vote on it.

This will be one of those cases where if the government allows it, you know dang well someone made a fortune and every member of Congress who voted down net neutrality did it for a corporation and said "Screw the people".

Yes, though, does Comcast have more money than Microsoft, Apple and Google?

Are those companies willing to get their hands dirty and buy off politicians? It's not always about who has the most money. Clever maneuvering behind the scenes goes a long way. Plus, look how many idiots in the US immediately declared net neutrality as a filthy socialist idea to allow the government to control the internet just because Obama supported it. If I remember correctly, the current head of the FCC is a former board member of Comcast.

Don't know if all the IT companies had to buy politicians off before, but I'm sure they will for this.

Nah he wasn't a former board member, just the head Comcast lobbyist for ending net neutrality... :(
