The king (IE) is dead! Long live the king (Spartan)!

If there are no advantages for gaming over windows 7 I won't bother
I think if windows 10 is a better OS then I might as well upgrade. I like new things.

MS is going to cut into XB1 sales if they release too many big franchises on windows. Halo would be the killer

that's a good point,. i hadn't thought of that.   ..still think VR is going to fail.

When you say fail what is your deffention of fail.

Yeah I know, its a good question actually. Fail could mean anything. Personally, I think VR will do well with a core audience but won't reach many people

Oh gosh that's horrible.

And why the heck do they bloody have to wreck the word "hologram!?"

The actual reality of such a device is really cool, but the absurd marketing of that video makes me want this to fail worse than zune.

but the actual device is doesn't exist like this.  this whole video is "milo" and the kinect reveal all over again.  a bunch of "imagine the possibilities" marketing to be followed with a whole but of "technical impossibilities" and "practical use sucks too much to use" scenarios.

I'd say it's a lot easier to pull off than a working Milo, and a little easier than the Kinect.

I said "actual reality of such a device," talking about the concept of high definition AR glasses, not the "actual reality of this device."

I fully agree with you.

The problem with AR like this is that it has very little room for error. If when rotating your head the images have just a fraction of a second long delay before moving with the environment, you're going to have problems.

Plus marker-less tracking is really really hard to do on the smooth and clean surfaces they showed in the video. The 3D images you're watching would realistically be snapping around instead of seamlessly flowing.

I mean VR itself is really really hard to do right, and AR like this is trying to do VR in an even harder environment. A good prototype doing what was in the video is still years and years away.

I'd say Kinect is super easy compared to this, and Milo using the cloud is pretty easy compared to this.

so not true.  this is a "hands free device" so all inputs will be voice input and hand gestures.  that right there tells you all you need to know,.. programs will be a "functional" as a kinect game.  the user experience will be as buggy and inconsistent as kinect which we already know blows as an input device.  any good ideas conceived will be marred with technical faults.

I watched the video now.
