^^ LOL xD

So mk8 won eurogamer goty. Funny their choice considering they keep downscoring games because they got no "next gen gameplay"

I'm really curious what the hell "next gen gameplay" means anyways. What exactly can be done with the controls we have that allows for revolutionary gameplay changes? What concepts can be introduced that would be like nothing previously seen? Gameplay doesn't improve as fast as graphics do. Call of Duty 2 wasn't "next gen gameplay" compared to the Medal of Honor games from the previous gen. Dead or Alive 4 didn't do anything the previous Dead or Alive games didn't do. Oblivion wasn't the first game to give us a huge, single-player, open-world experience in a first-person view. Improvements to gameplay happen seemingly at random. They don't really follow a pattern like graphics do and some fit only within certain genres. It's completely asinine to judge games by whether or not they do something very different and new.

Next gen gameplay is the "WoW' factor that a game can give.  For me, "next gen" last gen was watching Snake in a cutscene and the Hud popping in and letting you play.  I haven't played a game give me that kind of cutscene to gameplay.  It was mostly cutscenes in gameplay, which I personally despise.  God of War 3 and Uncharted 2 also fit the bill here.  They had gameplay ideas which just weren't possible last gen.  I have no idea what Mario Kart 8 does other than the gravity stuff which isn't new...

Thinking about it, Batman Arkham Knight is the only game I've seen in development that can't be done last gen.

The last gen versions lack the nemisis system. They're essentially a different game.

The way you can go in and out of Ace Chemicals.  The fluidity of it all.  Then hoping back in the Batmobile to kill tanks and stuff.  There's a quite a bit going on.  Like, not necessarily processing or GPU power, but the ram resources they'd need to pull that off.  512 megs isn't enough.

Rorono

It means nothing. Just an attempt of downplaying superior graphical capabilities of other systems.
