Crash would be like a $20 downloadable game at most.

It'd be cool, but it's not TLOU2, TLG, UNCHARTED 4, GT7, HORIZON, etc. level. It's more like Entwined level.

The point is not that Crash is an old ip, but that its not impressive or valuable based off modern standards. Remove the crash branding and it's just a small simple game. Of course nostalgia glasses make it bigger than entwined, but to a modern gamer who's never heard of crash, they're pretty similar.

This is of course assuming the new crash game is like the originals. If they change things up then who knows.

The only reason it might seem "simple" is because the games are decades old now. A modern crash would be a modern game based on one of Sony's most beloved IP's ever.

A lot of forum goers are old enough to have played the games back in the day, hence the meltdowns online and the millions of theories about Crash revival every time a new event is coming
