The group claiming responsibility for the latest GTA VI leak says it was protesting digital pre-orders and other practices it considers anti-consumer.

Cyberleek says digital games can’t sell out, so there is no reason for players to pay before launch. Its manifesto says:…

...also there is no reason as a customer i shouldn't be allowed to pre-order.   what a stupid fudgy thing to be against.   there is no gun to my head forcing me to pre-order anything.   it's my choice.   i pre-order sometimes when i know i want to be there day-1.   i don't most of the time because i generally like to wait for reviews.   but regardless i enjoy looking at the pre-order section as a way to see a short list of games i want to add to my wishlist before they transition over the massive and difficult to navigate pile of released games.
