I just wish they gave us a reason to care about Faye. They just put this generic character on screen and called it a day. Such a weird way to reveal this game imo.

like, did you even play GoW or GoW:R?  she's not some completely generic rando character.  she was the focal point of the story in GoW and in GoW:R there where flashback scenes in GoW:R that makes her character model in Laufey instantly recognizable:

like i dunno.  if you don't care about faye fine but she was the motivation for the entirety of GoW and a strongly featured character in GoW:R.  i've had reason to care about her for the last 8 years.  i remember you making these comment during the state of play:

Did fraya die? Who they burning?

But the kid was old

..and it's like hard to take your opinion all that seriously.  the Laufey demo very recognizably started from the opening scene of GoW

and it seems like you clearly didn't pick up on any of that context.  this is a "side"quel story.  an awful lot of context already exists.  maybe this trailer doesn't entice new customers but as player of GoW i'm very enticed to get this.

Honestly couldn't care much about God of war Faye. I wish Cory worked on something else. God of war is kratos.. he is the god of war. Also almost all of sonys games now have female leads, I don't mind female leads, I just don't prefer them for action/gory games, which is what god of war always was.

This is seeming like it's not Cory's game. He is not the game director. They also said they are going to do more Kratos stuff just trying something new to expand the world more.

If it was boy or freya, still not as good as Kratos. And Faye I guess could be great because she is such a blank slate but they didn't show that.

I think the gow name is not the problem, like lost legacy worked fine with the uncharted name.

It's just that this game has no preexisting reason to exist. The reveal needed to sell it beyond what we got imo.

Well ya can't please everybody.... soooo. There is plenty of hype for this and seems to be overall very positive.

If SSM wants to expand they have every right to. If they didn't need to expand they should have never done norse myth. Could have just kept it as greek myth only universe.
