Metroid Prime 4 still under 2 million sold

Metroid Dread is at 3.07 million, but that was a simple game. Prime 4 was hyped to high heaven and surely should have had massive growth.

if you trust AI the original prime sold 2.84 million and remains the best selling metriod prime game.  so like.. the ceiling was pretty low for prime 4.

But that was a full year of sales, whereas this is 6 months.  


Also I feel like Prime 4 wasn't that hyped. Like I know the fanbase was waiting for it. But I don't feel like it's on the level that something like Half Life 3 would be.

I think, pre trailer reveal, everyone was super hyped. I sure was.

Not half life 3 lol, but still I expected it to be a botw style expansion of the franchise. Make it go big league.

the motor cycle trailer killed off all of my hype and from the reviews it sounds like it was as bad as it looked.

They figured out 3D Metroid with that game.  Like, I get it, the story was bad, but now all of a sudden stories matter in Nintendo games?  I thought gameplay was king?  But no, all the barking and low sales over the story.

Yeah it was like 3d mario to 2d mario. Same gameplay, just 3d.

Meanwhile the prime games are first person which does not work as well imo for metroid.

I appreciate it as it has platforming.  Like, first person platforming isn't used as much.  But yeah, they literally have it and they're not iterating on it cause people were complaining about its story while ignoring the game itself.

Heck, I wish Capcom ripped the game off and make a 3D Mega Man X like that.
