He's been in the hospital for a couple weeks cause we found him on the floor borderline septic from a leg wound that got huge and he never got checked out.  Then he just stopped eating and seems to be in so much pain the doctors/nurses can barely move him.
my grandma died shortly after i graduated high school so i remember it well.  she was perfectly healthy until the day she wasn't.   that lasted almost 12 months but in that last year she was in and out of the hospital 8 times.  not that she was in good health otherwise but the final thing that she died to was an ingrown hair.   it got infected and it spread to her blood and then she was gone.

she was 87 if i remember correctly.   at some point it's just time and there is nothing you can do about it.   it probably sounds terrible to say but in some ways i wish she had died sooner.   those last 12 months were not good months for her.

my sister-in-law went from not knowing she had cancer to dying in 8 days.  in some ways it was perfect.   she had 5 good days in which to make her goodbyes and only 3 days of active dying.  now it's over and my brother can focus on helping the kids heal instead of managing hospital commitments.

Doing good so far (I dont follow or look at news or social media that much - only ever watch or read anything about video games, anime, movies, TV, Music, tech, etc).

2025 has been a better year than 2024 for me.

I'm still in recovery from all that happened in 2024 (Father's passing, weight gain, my daughter being born 3 weeks after my dad passed, home foundation repair, hurricane/covid messing me up in the summer, supporting my inlaws etc).

I was at $30,000 debt at the end of 2024 and my savings was cut down by 80% of what it was.

Now I'm on the path of recovery with less than $12,000 debt and my savings is 50% of what I had during my peak golden years in 2022/2023.

Expecting to be able to save properly again like I use to in 2022/2023 in another couple of months.

Once I have my financials in check , I can invest on getting a new refrigerator which we plan to get later this year (originally was gonna get it last year).

Aside from that I have one child and we are planning for more and I'm looking into on how to improve our QoL to make it easier for my mom who lives with us and helps take care of our child.

Also I've been working on losing weight. I changed my diet and been working out more - so far in 2026 I lost 5 pounds (though I could have done better, but because I've been working OT for so much, didnt have the energy to work out as much).

That and we got good news my father and mother inlaws got their Visas approved from their visa application appointment so they can come to the US at any time.
