I mean considering its reviewing about the same as most of the past like 6 AC games that's a win at least even if it's a fairly avg game

I mean the drop from 83 isn't good. 81 is perfectly fine.

AC Odyssey is one of my favorite games of all time so I do wonder if I'll get sucked in by this one.

Yes put 24 hours in so far and loving it

Finally started. Played the prologue.

Had some dumplings with chopsticks so I could really get into it  8)

Funny how Assassin's Creed intros still have no clue how to handle the animus. This one gave me Black Flag vibes with it being all happy and friendly, as if it's a video game.

Also funny how completely opposite the game handles Yasuke and the japanese woman. Yasuke is like the "you made me use 10% of my power meme." He just shows up in Japan, gets recognized as a fighter, and becomes the emperor's best bud samurai in a time jump.

Meanwhile the japanese woman is just getting destroyed. Almost a punishment simulator for her. Groaned when it switched to the flashback, just let me play! That was when I logged off for the day.

Luckily those flashbacks so far seem to be tied to meditation spots going forward.  Not 100% on that as I'm still not terribly far so could still have some that are built in to the story.

I'm digging the combat though. And stealth feels massively upgraded.

Also, I turned on guaranteed assassinations cause the stupid leveled assassinations is mind-blowingly dumb and I will NOT have it!  8)

Wow this game sucks. I have no idea how anyone at ubisoft signed off on this stuff.

Then the second it opens up and I can just play...

Yippee this is great!

I'm level 12. Yet to do any quests. Just building my home base.

Hopefully there is more to be revealed because I will be just loaded in resources. Don't have blacksmith or that other building yet cause they need quests.

I maybe borked some main quest thing because I guess I killed someone important? I took your advice and turned on guaranteed assassinations and I've cleared out a few castles.

Yeah guaranteed assassinations is a must. It's stupid they even thought that shouldn't be a thing anymore. But that's just a long line of things Ubisoft is doing wrong with AC even though they are still pretty good games

GIVE me back a proper modern day UBI!!

I've had a few bugs with it. One sleeping guy I had to assassinate 3 times before he fully died. But at least I could keep clicking r1.

Pretty sure even origins had removed guaranteed assassinations for higher levels. I get it in theory, but I think they could have come up with something better. Like maybe a random quick time button prompt could trigger so a small amount of extra skill is needed for hard guys. Or have it be "study" based. You can't insta assassinate higher level targets until you have observed them for a bit, learning their patterns and finding weakspots in their armor.

Yeah Ubi really should have split the franchise. Make some games where the animus is literally just the name of the game menu. No other references, just a 100% period piece game.

And make others that are focused on the artifacts, the modern day stuff, etc. Go back to embracing the duel story.

AC Mirage would make sense as the first type.

Yeah I actually just encountered that bug today. Had it happen twice. One was a sleeping guy and one was a guy that sounded like he was gonna throw up his stomach.
