Do you just ignore mechanics in video games? I do

I often ignore leveling up. It's all fake anyway. I tend to amass a huge amount of skill points or whatever unless there is a specific upgrade that seems cool.

Like Horizon Forbidden West I'm pretty sure I reached over 100 unused skill points multiple times.

I also just ignore magic systems or potion building most of the time. Not interested in that and on normal difficulty they'd probably just make the game too easy.

Yes, I engage with the stuff I find fun.

I've put like a 1000 hours into all the Souls games, and I think I've used magic like 1 hour of them.

more likely I don't ignore it but rather didn't understand it enough in the first place to engage with it.

but yeah sometimes.

I'm a hoarder so I almost always ignore consumables/ crafting systems.   oh sure,.. I may have a dozen health pots and over 200 scrolls in balders gate but I'm sure as hell not going to use them.   what if I need it in a fight sometime later in the game?!?!

Some games like to pile on tutorials at the start, I think it's easy to lose track of some things.

especially the mechanics that require you to press and hold a button then press something else.   Soo easy to not internalize these quasi-complicated control schemes.

I want to link in that video of a girl that figures out after hundreds of hours playing Zelda you can lock on enemies and strafe (...or something like that) but I can't find it.
