Yeah I was just impressed by the 2025. If it holds, that'd be crazy having a studio release 2 games within the same year. We'd be back to when studios had multiple teams!

I'm expecting most every Bethesda game to come to ps5 from now on. They royally iced Bethesda by not keeping them multiplatform.

Still waiting for starfield on ps5 though

It's cuz they don't want to just mandate it on teams that aren't set up yet for multiplatform simultaneous development.

But the era of Xbox having permanent console exclusives is over.

It'll be over once Halo is ported. So far Sea of Thieves is their only in house game they've brought to PS5. I know everything is changing behind the scenes but it's still possible that they're only doing ports for new acquisitions and for games that make sense.

i doubt jez has any actual insider information here but rather is just making a blatantly obvious point. if the studio's last game was on ps5 (outer wild, doom) than asking them to put the sequel on ps5 is an easy ask. if the studio hasn't been on ps5 in the last 10+ years (halo) than it's likely not a small thing to get them set up to support multiplat release.

+ the console warriors are going to be less offened by doom or outerwilds 2 getting ported. and these guys need time to adjust the the new reality that MS is a 3rd party developer now. but they will adjust just like they did with PC ports.

Oh I think it's happening. I just think it's funny that basically everyone takes it as a matter of fact even though nothing has changed since earlier in the year.

so was outer worlds 1 any good? I remember checking out on the franchise as soon as MS bought the studio since I assumed I wouldn't be able to play the sequel. now that I know I can is the game even worth playing?

I enjoyed it. Not great but had cool elements. 7 or 8 out of 10.

A lot more freedom than most rpgs. Could fight and kill any npc, and they'd be dead forever. Even main story npcs, they modified the story to fit your actions.
