Forum 3 is here, expect glitches

There will be a few hours down time tonight. I am currently hosting forum 3 at ~dontgohere.vizioneck.com swapping it with our current forum is a bit of a process. Plus DNS is involved so even once I'm done, it might take a while for the rest of the internet to get the memo.

Cookies should be fine but you might have to log in again.

Lots of smaller features are simply not set up, and others are glitchy. I want to get you guys on forum 3 so you can help find them. (If no one notices a small thing missing, then it must not be that important)

Also Forum 3 has some small display tweaks. Let me know if your phone has issues with something, and let me know if you find any out of place colors.

Forum 3 is fast. It is also designed to scale really well so I won't have to do this again in the future. Live view is now even faster and supercharged. We also have a new Official Topics browser. And we have a bunch of "modern fancy stuff" sprinkled around.

Well we're back. And it's snowing, wow!

It will take a while for everything to finish migrating and settle down. I set up Forum 2 to "rebroadcast" Forum 3 so I could reenable access even though DNS changes are still propagating. If there is a bit of latency on a page load, it's probably that.

I'm going to bed. Hopefully it's smooth sailing and I don't wake up to a shipwreck.

1. i'm having a lot of trouble using the site.   looks like you have a certificate issue.   on pretty much every click i'm getting that warning.   it's pretty disruptive.



i had to get the above screenshot from the internet and i'm noticing that pic doesn't refer to the certificate your site is complianing about.   My error states: NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID

2. i'm also getting console errors due to "Mixed content".   It looks like it's your snow causing the issues:

i'm also getting this error

GET https://vizioneck.com/favicon.ico 404 (Not Found)

unlike the https://imgur.com/ ones i posted above i can't directly navigate to this link.   In case it helps the direct navigation states: "Apache/2.4.62 (Ubuntu) Server at vizioneck.com Port 443" in case it's a simple port issue.

Yeah I couldn't refresh the ssl certificate until enough DNSs updated. Should be good now.

You'll get the mixed content warning for every picture on a page that isn't https. You can just ignore.

Yeah the favicon couldn't get set up until I finished the migration.



Don't know a thing about uploading, so thanks for finding that. Should be fine so I'll look into it.

Home page doesn't have a new topic button for me. I only see an official topics button. Does appear in the board pages

I like weirdly feel like the buttons are backwards, even if they probably aren't. 

I keep feeling like I keep going to the left to submit for whatever reason.

just noticed that if i navigate on mobile i no longer have the "jump to" thing at all.   i'm not seeing any way to get back to the forum home easily.


...also the jump to no longer seems to default to "home" anymore so even if the button was there it wouldn't take me back to the forum main page but rather the sub-forums.

Unless you are on mobile, I don't think buttons have changed. Except maybe their coloring being slightly different because css is funky.

Oh that's funny. I never used the jump to thing like that. I always clicked "Home" on the left in the link tree.

(And I'm totally open to removing VizionEck from the start of the link tree, I keep accidentally clicking it)

Edt: oh lower link tree is gone on mobile too. I'll bring that back.
