I think it's more of a big correction to the industry.  I used to look at game informer all the time, but I haven't in years probably.  IGN is definitely the top for industry stuff. Even though they tend to cover most everything anymore.  We are in a very adapt or die place in the industry as a whole.  There will be an explosion of new indie/small game studios in the next 5 years.

Yeah as long as people still like video games, game "journalists" of some form will still exist. The youtube side still feels like it's going strong outside of a few like Easy Allies.

i wouldn't be certain.  AI will probably take over.   get ready for MS's games getting substantially higher rating then ps or nintendo.
