2 more rocks on Mars with potential life, not as high quality as the first though

NASA's Perseverance Rover Scientists Find Intriguing Mars Rock - NASA

Probably just a geologic thing we don't understand yet, but this might be legit aliens.

One worry I have is that they're using this to push the Mars sample return mission. No way would scientists lie or make stuff up about this but it's too focused on getting them more money. Mars Sample Return is such a good goal but such a bad program currently.

Crazy how little news this is getting. So many fake things go viral yet when the news comes from NASA, no one cares.

This is the most exciting thing ever found on Mars. 50 years since NASA last had a press release that mentioned maybe finding life on Mars.

There is a bit of confusion, at least caused by a random guy's interpretation on reddit and NASA's desire to not oversell the discovery.

Are the spots a potential result of life living in this rock, or are they a potential home if life did live in this rock? The trusted youtuber above makes it sound like the former but if it's the later then yeah no wonder no one cares. That'd just be JPL spewing BS to get funding like I feared.

People would literally need aliens to land and announce themselves in the white house to believe they are real despite hundreds of sightings of UFO's and quite a few alien abductions and signings.

It feels less exciting.

I think there's been hypotheses about life elsewhere a really long time ago for a while. Doesn't really feel like news, more like stuff that's already seemed true.

I used to be a big UFO fan but when smartphones became a thing, the amount of clear pics should have skyrocketed. The lack of that imo has shown that the vast vast majority of encounters have to be fake/non alien. If it was that common, we'd have clear 4k video of one by now.

The news about potential life on Venus was huge a few years ago. It turned out wrong though.

Confirming independent microbes from billions of years ago would be so huge. It'd be the greatest discovery in biology maybe ever. Plus it'd make it very very likely that microbes are alive today on most planetary bodies.

2 more rocks found with stuff that looks like signs of microbial aliens, but they lack some of the features from the first rock. Will be interesting to see how their discover impacts our understanding of the first. Do they increase or decrease the probability of us having found alien life?
