i mean, it looks more interesting than most turn based games.   i'm just not into that genre outside of valkaria chronicles.   i think its the movement/position that makes that game work for me.

I'm just teasing.
I love turn based games personally, but I know they're not for everyone.

Con: too many jrpg games that i don't care for.  too many retro games i don't care for.   but DK, mario party, zelda, metroid and mayhaps mario and lugi were good announcements.   just not a lot of details for half of them.   metroid especially looked very much like it should have shipped 15 years ago not in 2025.

I was just joking when I labeled the thread's countdown as "metroid prime 4 gameplay reveal" but wow, it actually happened.

And yeah Kitler, it just looks ok. Had weird vibes to me as if Nintendo wants a modern game yet doesn't really know how to make one.

edt: oh gosh it really seems to be a direct sequel to that bad federation force game.

i don't want to be too hard on it.   i dunno,.. maybe its a great game.    but it's a terrible trailer.   after waiting 84 years to see anything they should have show more than this.   ...especially in the "and one more thing" spot of the direct.   this was barely more than a logo and what little they did show looks like it could have been taken directly from any of the previous metroid prime games.   do you not have even the slightest bit of innovation on which to tease us??

those were all introduced in the tutorial section of the original metroid prime.

so i guess i'm supposed to be very excited by the final shot of the tree in the distance that clearly wasn't highly influence by avatar because they made it far more generic and uninteresting....

Wow even the reddit thread is mixed. Lots of people calling it a bad/meh trailer.

Also I guess I wasn't the only one that thought of Halo 4 when the gameplay first started. It just had that specific smooth art style.

There's a strong theory on ResetEra about where Pyoro has been getting his information.

I've done a bit more research, I'm 100% confident now that's how he got his info. The Natsu-Mon content that Pyoro leaked also has a store page up on the Japanese site, and as far as I'm aware, the Japanese Nintendo eshops/sites have not been updated with the new batch of games announced by Nintendo.

I have not seen Nintendo delay putting pages up for their games in a long time, so I think that's where Pyoro was getting their info from. All 4 of the leaks have store pages up on Japan, and in the case of Metal Slug/Ace Attorney, in the US as well, none of the other major stuff in the direct has pages up. IMO, Pyoro wasn't lying when they said Youtube backend wasn't the source, it was the website/eshop data getting uploaded ahead of time. I distinctly recall pages for stuff like Endless Ocean/Another Code going up almost instantly, and it explains how Pyoro knew the price point of Nintendo World Championships. It also explains why Pyoro mentioned Reynatis, and specifically highlighted story DLCs and the demo, all of which can be found on that game's Japanese store page.

Maybe the reason Pyoro mentioned 2D Zelda Remake and not a brand new 2D Zelda is because the pages for the Nintendo Switch Lite Zelda edition were ready before the direct aired and went up fast, and it intuitively makes sense that there would be a Zelda game alongside the release of said console (also, the image on the page shows a screenshot of the new Zelda without a logo, so maybe Pyoro jumped the gun, saw the image and instantly assumed it was for a 2D Zelda remake since it looked very similar to Links Awakening)

I think that the source that got killed this direct was simply Nintendo not allowing eshop/webpage data to be created until after the direct has long aired, with the only exceptions being hardware data and third party stuff that has pre-orders or is stealth-dropping. Expect that if Pyoro is going to leak anything concretely in the future, it will be stuff that's stealth-dropping/opening pre-orders as soon as possible to the point of needing a webpage to go up, provided of course that Pyoro still has access to that data somehow

The things that he did ultimately leak, Metal Slug, Ace Attorney Investigations, both of those games have webpages up on Nintendo's website ready to go. They haven't uploaded any such webpage for the major first party direct announcements today. Usually sites tend to go up shortly after announcements like this, so the fact its been 2 hours and no webpages are up is weird



Maybe Pyoro simply was in charge of that backend and got to see the announcements early because he worked on making sure those sites were ready to go, and now Nintendo/other publishers aren't allowing sites to be uploaded ahead of time

Up until this week, a social-media account named Pyoro had spent the last year popping up ahead of Nintendo's marketing events to tell fans what was coming. Sometimes the account would post obscure teases. Other times they would specify that the company was about to announce a new remake or Donkey Kong game. Ahead of each Nintendo Direct, Pyoro would share just about everything that was going to be revealed.

Then came a twist. Several observers — led by a ResetEra poster called dgamemaster — began to realize that in contrast to previous announcements, these new surprises did not have pre-seeded webpages on Nintendo's store. They followed the bread crumbs and realized that Pyoro's previous leaks had all involved games that were set to go live on Nintendo's website as soon as they were announced. Games that were only put up on the store after the Nintendo Direct were not leaked by Pyoro in advance.

It appeared that Pyoro had access to Nintendo's web backend, and the account's information was limited to what was available there.

I reached out to Pyoro to try to get clarity on this. Over direct messages, they told me that their source works for Nintendo of Japan, "but I'm unsure how they obtain their information" and that the "backend theory is a reasonable guess."

Pyoro is just the latest mysterious rumormonger to get knocked off a pedestal in recent weeks. Another X user, who went by the handle Midori, had claimed to be a Japanese woman with inside access to companies such as Square Enix Holdings Co. and Sega. Last week, the accountholder confessed that he was neither Japanese, nor a woman, and was actually a different rumormonger with a shadier reputation.
