I tend to drop a lot of games. I feel like overall, I finish maybe 40% of games.

For the ones I don't, there's generally a point where it just clicks. Sometimes it is right at the start, like Uncharted 2 and Bloodborne.

Sometimes it's several hours in, before I start loving the experience. I didn't really start loving Dark Souls 1 until like 10 hours in. I kept pushing along because Bloodborne is my favorite game ever and I wanted to experience Dark Souls as well.

Most games I play with my developer hat on. I try to sample all the interesting things on offer but I rush through stuff that's repetitive.

Meanwhile for games I'm really excited about I'll often totally immerse myself like a mini vacation.

I mostly only drop games in their first hour or two when I realize the game isn't what I'm looking for. I absolutely love going into games blind and only knowing how long they are, but sometimes that backfires. I almost refunded INFRA since it felt like a trash game in its first hour, would have been the first game I ever refunded, but all the praise made me stick with it. Ended up loving it.

Meanwhile I was playing and enjoying Ghost of Tsushima but just kinda dropped it. I don't remember why. Maybe I was too busy with work at the time.
