Do steam discussion threads actually work for anyone else?

Steam just randomly marks all threads as read for me after I've browsed a few of them.

Also it never jumps to new messages.

They're great for seeing discussion on small and mid sized games. So much more active than reddit.

If I never refresh or go back in the browser, I can avoid all threads becoming read. Strange that they haven't fixed this glitch since I'm sure I've noticed it for years.

To go to new messages, you need to click the icon on the left of the thread. But that icon can't be clicked unless you've already visited the thread. It has popup text saying you can click it, but you can't click it  :P

Nope. First thing doesn't actually work every time, so that's not a solution.

Also the new message button was working for a bit on threads I hadn't opened, so I have no idea what's up with it.
