$200. Take it or leave it.

Now that would be an interesting use of Microsoft's billions.

I have most bases covered with PC and PS5. Nowadays I prefer to sit at PC and play over sitting on sofa with big TV. 2 years ago, I would of never though that. But if I didn't have PC or if I didn't move away from console gaming, I would be very tempted to buy a Series X and Gamepass and Starfield would be part of the reason why.
Side note, I like hearing what you have to say about Starfield. It's a good feeling when you find a game that you can connect with on every level.

But give Hello Gamea some slack  ;D
Seriously though, I understand your frustration with them. The didn't produce what was promised but I like to think that they intended to reach those goals.

I do get what you say about realism. You are far more enthusiastic about space and sci fi than me and even I didn't like the planets being clumped together and fake night and day cycles in NMS. It's was a little jarring for me.

My big frustration at the time was that they'd show a photo/video of X yet they'd claim it was Y. I think most developers definitely intended to reach their goals and make an awesome game, but their apparent fraud even post launch was a whole separate thing.

Take for example planet rotation. Super minor feature that was talked about a lot, including anecdotes of it being confusing. It was officially removed in patch 1.03. Yet as far as I could ever find, it was never actually implemented. No footage of the game has planet rotation, not even version 1.00 of the game. Would have been so easy to say something along the lines of "we struggled to implement this feature and eventually decided it wasn't worth it" but they opted to make seemingly fake patch notes instead.

When MS bought up bethesda it helped me decide to get a steam deck.   why get an xbox when every xbox game is on stream and steam has like 10 bajillion games not on xbox.  ...and on steam i don't need to pay the subscription fee.

Nothing will ever get me to buy an xbox.

Hell, if sony keeps on putting everything on steam i dunno about a ps6...
I'm more or less here.  I have yet to buy a PS5, and the only reason I'd consider it, is I have been thinking of switching back to physical media for games (I'm seriously pissed at digital media currently with corp's shaming policies).  So if Sony announces no physical PS6, then I'm out.  As far as Microsoft goes, the Xbox One should have been a customized PC running a customized Windows.  I will hold that to this day.  If MS made a consolized PC then I'd buy one.
