Pixar is going to have layoffs, can only imagine how bad it is internally for Disney animation with back to back massive bombs.

Wish is not the biggest box office bomb in history so it's better than other Disney films this year, but it's such a bad sign that even their nostalgic princess movie could do this bad.

Quality is lacking as in most things they've done recently
I'm sure they can get back if they make actual great stuff

Quote from: Legend on Nov 17, 2023, 06:03 PMOk Marvel might be legit dead. The Marvels did $1.2 million yesterday, below even Morbius which did $1.4 million on its first Thursday.

Captain Marvel was the MCU's third strongest franchise at the domestic box office (behind Avengers and Black Panther), yet it is now Morbius level.

That should not be possible. Every future mcu movie is fighting an uphill battle.

Captain Marvel was HUGELY helped by between Infinity War and Endgame and with the tease at the end of Infinity War everyone wanted to know who it was. They could have teased any old character and that film of the character would have done well because it was leading up to Endgame. Ultimately I don't think MCU will get back to those levels till new heroes like X-men and Fantastic 4 come along but Disney are right to delay multiple films to improve their quality and let each release breath.

My biggest problem with Marvel films content is it's all over the place and there doesn't seem to be a structure building up to something. From the first Iron Man you could see the building blocks to a greater universe.

The Biggest Box Office Bombs In 2023

The Marvels is the biggest flop in box office history.

Deadline calculates $628 million losses from just 4 Disney films last year. Such a ridiculously bad year.

I'm rather interested in the Home Entertainment vs streaming numbers they list.

Home Entertainment is a small piece of the puzzle, but still seems worth it.
