Looks really really good. Really smart move by Sony, could make a whole bunch of people see video games in a new light.

Funky use of take on me though.

I love the song but their cover doesn't fit imo. Strays a bit too far from their template for the rest of the trailer:

just watched the trailer. They are nailing the atmosphere so well. A part of me wants as close of a recreation as Part 1, but I also want it to kinda be its own thing while still hitting the big story beats of the game. I can already see some things that look like additions to the story.

Watching 1899. First episode blunder. Talking about how we've explored everywhere and reached the tallest peaks. Ocean is the only unknown.

So wrong lol. Everest was 1953 for example. North and South pole were early 1900s.

How could they have known it wasn't discovered until it was discovered? ;)

It got better but 1899 was pretty lame imo.

Nothing really engaged me. Moment to moment drama mostly didn't work imo since things were so predictable and it didn't feel like consequences were earned.

Spoiler for Hidden:
For example the mutiny. It just kinda happened? The captain started making enemies in the first episode yet never did anything to stop it. The show didn't give me any reason to care.

End of the first episode my theory was either they're all ghosts or they're in a simulation/hallucination. Everyone jumping off the side just felt pointless since there were no stakes. Only in the final 2 episodes when the real clues/answers showed up did I start having a fun time.

I liked the pyraminx at the end. Those are fun twisty puzzles. Liked the symmetry of them being on a long duration space journey too.

Also was amused by what I assumed was a quantum computer on the ship near the end. They forgot to keep it cooled, no wonder everything started breaking after that!
Still happy I watched it though. My sister praised it so I binged the series at her request.

Son and I are well on our way through our second watching of Amphibia.

My son seems to love it. Seems like his favorite show right now.

And I appreciate a lot more of it this time around. But largely solidified my feelings that Owl House is a more up my alley.

Watched Infinity Train with my son.

Quite surprised that he seemed so interested in it.

yeah, Netflix is a great example of how AI leads to worse decision making.

I'm not done with 1899 yet despite being my most anticipated release of the year.

....but the released it Thanksgiving week. sorry Netflix but in December I only watch Xmas shows.

I'm kind of to the point where I don't even want to watch a show until it reaches season 3 on Netflix. their cancellation rate must be like 75% which makes investing any time into a show annoying as fudge.

...I was Soo mad about the cancellation of cowboy bebop.

This one is baffling.

Seems like season 1 was pretty successful, but maybe part 2 wasn't as much.
Oddly Netflix had announced that a full season 2 was in the works just a few months ago.
