Every generation Sony seems to be caring less and less about Japan. That seems to have culminated in closing Japan Studio. They would like to be successful in Japan, but they don't seem to be losing any sleep over it.

Microsoft seems interested in expanding their Japanese reach.  Phil Spencer taking about buying studios, "working every day to bring more Japanese games to Xbox.

Sony definitely does not "need" Japan to be successful, but that doesn't mean they aren't interested in expanding their success into Japan.

What do you think? Will SIE ignore Japan or will they make some kind of move?

I don't know what Sony can do to be honest.  Outside of Nintendo, Japanese devs don't really sell their games to well in Japan either.  Sony's figured this out unfortunately.

No.

Only thing I could see would be another handheld/hybrid thanks to Switch's global success.
