I had a feeling this was going to happen. They failed to get Live working for PC. If they want crossplay, they're going to have to get rid of payed online.Xbox Live Gold is going away and playing online multiplayer will be free. They will not force you into Ultimate to play online.

Not sure if personal expectation or something that's happening. Sounds like MS is moving from Xbox Live all in on gamepass.
