I think Cambridge might have become like Santa Monica, but in Europe.  They might just be helping everyone else while doing a side project.
Europe already has xDev for that.

the-pi-guy

do you guys wonder if guerrilla Cambridge is doing a killzone game? they did say they are working on a "big franchise" in a job listing. maybe they have two teams?
"forthcoming projects in a high profile, multi-million selling franchise"
Doesn't sound like Rigs, to be honest.

Even disregarding xDev, Cambridge doesn't really feel like the right studio to do that.
Santa Monica is a huge, successful studio, Cambridge really isn't in the same way.  Their most recent game was a Vita game.  Don't think they are really in a position to help out.

Either Cambridge is making Killzone, or Killzone is dead.

They were repurposed into a sister studio for Guerilla just to take over the franchise. Vita game flopped sales wise but was still an awesome game. Had a better meta than Shadow Fall. Plus since Resistance is dead, Killzone is Sony's only FPS. Definitely deserves at least one more entry.

Guerrilla Games confirmed around E3 or not long after that they aren't done with Killzone.

EDIT: Guerrilla Games Isn't Done with Killzone Just Yet - Push Square

Sounds like they're either giving it a rest for now or don't want to say too much.

Sony Santa Monica is difficult as they don't have a linkedin page so I searched all Playstation employees in the Greater Los Angeles area and there were 218
Japenese tend not to use linkedin as much so didn't bother with Japan Studio etc.

Naughty Dog definitely has another game in works. It's likely a new IP because TLOU is Druckmann's masterpiece and he likely wants to be in charge of TLOU 2.

They are bigger than GG, which I think has 3 teams (Cambridge and 2 at Amsterdam).
At the very least they have 2.

Why poor Sucker Punch?  From the sounds of it, they have grown quite a bit from infamous.  (60 employees after SS.)

Quantic Dream is eating up 170 people for what is probably going to be a point and click adventure and only made Sony two titles.  Sucker Punch has been making games since the PS2 days for Sony yet only have 60 people.  Why is Quantic Dream getting a studio that large okayed?  Not saying Sucker Punch has been asking for more people mind you, but I think they could use some more resources.

Quantic Dream isn't first party, so they have how ever many employees they want.

Plus they make great games! lol point and click

QD doesn't have to get their studio okayed?  They aren't owned by Sony or anyone.  They can get as big as they want and they can last as long as they can afford.

Sucker Punch is at the mercy of Sony.
Other things to consider: SP might not want so many people.  May not have the space to accomdate people.  Have different needs, like more artists, less programmers.  While QD may need a lot of both.

Plus since Sonys not doing amazing, they may just be bringing in profits and investing on other areas, whereas QD can and is free to invest in itself.

Forgot Quantic Dream wasn't owned by Sony.  Mafia confirmed paying the bills?  :P.  But yeah, not saying Sucker Punch wanted more.
