I am predicting they will have a show between December and February. Either a big or "medium" showThe Game Awards have grown into a pretty big thing. Unless Sony has a lot, I think they'd just put a trailer or two in the game awards like last year.
Last two years Sony had a Showcase in early September:Sure. I bet the show is very small like last year with teaser trailers, although it'd be awesome if they had big demos to reveal new projects.

Emboldened by recent leaks, I'm going to predict that there will similarly be a showcase this September.
First the date:
I'm going to predict it will be on the 15th. (I will end up being wrong on this, I am sure.)
Second, some contents:
I'm going to predict that this showcase will have only 1 or 2 first party surprises and a handful of partner games.
There's already been a leak.So were you right or wrong?
So were you right or wrong?Well, someone just said there was a show next month and shared the game trailer leak.
Some have been speculating the show will be on the 8th, so that Spiderman 2 and maybe Wolverine can be at the Disney Gaming show that's on the 9th.Kinda makes sense.
I feel like that probably isn't a factor, but I could see Sony going for more attention. Easy marketing.
But if that's the case then I feel like September 1st/2nd would be more likely. There's an Apple Event on the 7th, so that week is kind of busy.
Kinda makes sense.Nah. 8)
Or maybe the disney show is the only show. Spider and wolfy will be there and that's that.
i don't know why disney having a gaming show means they'll show spidey or wolverine. i predict it will be at neither.I'm predicting that too.
I'm predicting that too.Well my thinking is,.. wolverine is too early to be shown off. I believe that insomniac said they had just gotten approval on the project when they announced it or something like that. Should be quite a while before it has content polished enough to show let alone ship.
But the thinking is, Disney and Sony would like it to be there.
Sony gets marketing to Disney fans, and Disney gets to show off their crown jewels.

I may take back my spiderman 2 bit though. Miles morales shipped almost two years ago now. Its an established game so development should go relatively fast and being insomniac and all i'll bet it ships in 2023. They could be ready to show something off especially if its targeting the first half of 2023.
The teams went from:so you agree with me!!
Spiderman 1 -> Spiderman 2
Spiderman MM -> Wolverine
I'm massively grasping at straws here, but frankly I think Sony needs a showcase after the price hike.I've been thinking similar things since the gen started yet Sony keeps printing money so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm massively grasping at straws here, but frankly I think Sony needs a showcase after the price hike.not really. they need a system seller and they have it in GoW.
not really. they need a system seller and they have it in GoW.Will MS studios release a good game anytime soon? I don't think so.
the better question is what are their system sellers in 2023? one of these days MS will actually release a good game and people might even notice...
Will MS studios release a good game anytime soon? I don't think so.Some of those studios are pretty capable, but they're in a weird place. Like many of them are getting super spread out with multiple projects that all seem to be years out still.
Will a Microsoft owned studio release a good game soon? 100%Starfield will almost certainly be a good game, even if Kitler hates it.
I think 2023 will be a competitive year between Sony and MS.

I've never played a Bethesda game but every fan has told me1.) They are absolutely buggy, doesn't stop them from mostly being great experiences.
1. they are buggy as shame
2. they aren't fun until the modding community fixes it
are we really going to say MS made a good game if the PC community is required to fix it?
I've never played a Bethesda game but every fan has told meThat's just the elitist crowd. Millions and millions of people loved Skyrim on ps360 without modding.

That's just the elitist crowd. Millions and millions of people loved Skyrim on ps360 without modding.the "fans" I speak of is not the voice of the internet mob. I speak only if IRL friends that are in no way elitist.
the "fans" I speak of is not the voice of the internet mob. I speak only if IRL friends that are in no way elitist.Huh. Irl I've only had the opposite experience. My social circle pre Fallout 4 loved Bethesda. Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim all had glitches on console but they were often people's favorite games.
I played skyrim and enjoyed it heavily on PS3. I loved fallout 4, due to some circumstances but haven't finished it yet, but i will.I still need to play Fallout 4. I actually haven't played any of them.
Supposedly it's on the 8th. Which if true will be announced on Friday most likely.if true i'd expect either monday or tuesday for a thrusday show. 2 days notice is plenty in today's world. all i need to do is click a link not book a flight to California. keeping the announcement of the announcement close to the announcement helps build/maintain the hype.
Sony generally has a show every 2-3 months, usually a State of Play.i could see 2 show incoming.
So they're due for something. Whether it's a 20-30 minute state of Play, or a 40-60+ minute showcase, who knows?
It’s Friday and for the first time in a long time I’m hearing that Playstation is gathering assets from devs to put on a Showcase. No ETA yet.

"confirmed"The joke is that Tidux is always wrong, so if he says something is happening, then it's not happening.
State of Play returns tomorrow, September 13. Watch live to see new reveals and updates for PS5, PS4, and PS VR2.

Tune in at 3 PM PT / 11 PM BST: https://t.co/pB7wQ5ipwv pic.twitter.com/GfbT4uK1Cy
Expect about ~20 minutes of reveals, new updates and fresh gameplay footage for 10 games coming to PS5, PS4, and PS VR2.
I guess they'll show GoW in November lulzI'm certain GoW will get a dedicated state of play like GT did. ~2-3 weeks before release sounds like a reasonable window to me.
Can somebody make a countdown for this? The deed is done.
Seems a bit much. Remove GOW and unannounced yet really hype games.Spoiler for Hidden:
My predictions for the show
Seems a bit much. Remove GOW and unannounced yet really hype games.I was just thinking 2 or 3 of these would show up.
Sounds like it will be a small show.I wonder if announcing big games as a suprise is the best thing to do anymore.
So I am wondering where are these big game announcements supposed to be?
I was just thinking 2 or 3 of these would show up.i was going to agree with legend. 20 minutes and 10 games means,.. don't expect an E3 show like you had listed. at most there will be 1 big game and since they specifically mention psvr 2 my best bet would be something astro bot related.
But this might be a small show?
I wonder if announcing big games as a suprise is the best thing to do anymore.in the current climate the better question is "can any game reveal be a surprise?!?!"
Ubisoft made an online show and said the future installments of AC was there. And I wonder if more companies would take that approach going forward.
For example Sony could announce a stare of play and detail that Naughty Dogs or GG next game would be shown there.
I can understand people like suprises and suprises announcements. But does every big game reveal need to be a suprise?
87 minutes.87 minutes of disappointment? i thought the show was only 20 minutes? you must be including the post-show sobbing we'll all be doing??
87 minutes of disappointment? i thought the show was only 20 minutes? you must be including the post-show sobbing we'll all be doing??I cry first

well. that was a pretty bad set of predictions. 2 of 8 at best.Spoiler for Hidden:

I was told we'll see something by the end of the year, but I'd still treat it as speculation for now until something more concrete.

If I'm 100% confident and it's big news like that, I would probably write about it to pay my gas bill lol
I kinda watched the GoW story trailer and I'm so hyped. Not watching anything else till I'm playingI wouldn't have searched it out but during the livestream it was too tempting.
So what are the impressions on the starwars VR game? I think that can be huge if its fun. The graphics were kinda trash thoughStar Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge Reviews - OpenCritic (https://opencritic.com/game/10567/star-wars-tales-from-the-galaxys-edge)

Nice bump. Made me think their e3 show would just be a state of play >:(wasn't my goal but now that you say it,.. yeah that's pretty funny. ;D
I believe this time will be different though. 8)and I believe it still won't. I put my "rules" into that other thread as I have 100% confidence that Sony will have another show and soon. I just don't believe Sony is going for the "showcase" format any more.
