Title: Portal spinoff was ok but a bit shameless (Lightmatter review)
Post by: Legend on Apr 27, 2022, 07:19 AM

As far as I know no one involved in Lightmatter worked on Portal or Portal 2, yet this game really wants players to remember portal.

2 achievements are portal references, a portal turret and cube are in game, and the facility's leader talks about Cave Johnson and Aperture Science constantly. It's a shame because the gameplay is pretty good and the game should stand on its own.

I'd recommend it for a short puzzle game. Spent 2.5 hours with it and outside of the Portal references and bland story I don't have any complaints. Visuals are great and the shadows do a cool shader effect I hadn't thought about before. 7/10

Yup PC only.

First few levels are free. Gameplay itself was much closer to Talos Principle.

no pc so no play.   the downside of not wanting to deal with all the BS on pc is having access to fewer games.   i feel like the indie/puzzle scene is where i personally feel it the most.

all in all,.. not worth building a pc over however.
