On the whole, MLB is taking more control of their franchise.
Sony has been happy with the money and MLB is happy with Sony's games.  
So the arrangement makes sense.

But the optics look terrible.  People will be able to play a PS studios game on day one on GamePass.  And yet it will cost $70 on PS5.

They really screwed up. San Diago wanted to branch out and expand but all we got were 3 flops.

As far as we know, it's being developed by San Diego Studio.

You will see the PlayStation Studios Logo and the San Diego Studio logo on Xbox:
