Mixer is the recommended livestream to watch X018 because of the additional game content viewers will receive for Forza Horizon 4 and Sea of Thieves during the live event.
It's also known as the MixPot.

Be sure that you are logged into your primary Microsoft Account when viewing the stream on Mixer!

Welcome to the |OT| for X018, a global celebration for all things Xbox.

A Brief History on X (Xbox Show)

For the earlier part of the 2000s, Microsoft held an annual trade show, primarily in European countries, to generate interest for the company's first Xbox (xBox, or how to make Seamus Blackley happy) gaming console. Dubbed "X" (or "X0", where the last number of the year followed the zero), the first show was held in Cannes, France and introduced a slew of games, including projects that would later become the well-renowned Fable series, Project Gotham, and Halo: Combat Evolved.

X02 was held at Isla Magica, a theme park in Seville, Spain. Taking place on September 24 to the 25th of 2002, the event was attended by roughly 850 media members, Microsoft trade partners, and 100 contest winners. Focusing on the Xbox Live service, Microsoft announced 50 Xbox Live enabled titles, such as Halo 2 and Project Gotham Racing 2. It was also at this event where Microsoft announced the controversial purchase of Rare Ltd. and announced four games: Conker: Live & Reloaded, Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Perfect Dark Zero.

Also B.C. was a thing, but no one really cares. (Lionhead Studios/Microsoft Corp.)

Apart from the year 2004, the X0 series of European trade shows would continue until 2006, and the games would just keep coming. From the likes of Dead or Alive, The Elder Scrolls, Alan Wake, an oh so much more. This is also where the HD-DVD drive was announced for the Xbox 360, which of course no one bought (because a PlayStation 3 and Talladega Nights was the better deal.)

After X06, some smaller shows were hosted by Microsoft Canada to promote games to the Canadian media in a low-key fashion. One took place in the United States in 2010, where the long-awaited Final Fantasy XIII made its arrival to Xbox 360, as well as various other titles such as Toy Soldiers, Game Room (Xbox Avatar-based games), Fable III, and more.

What to Expect

X018 is coming back to Mexico City, and in a big way. Anything can happen, but expect a lot of games, new console features to be displayed, and possibly more.

To bullet point some ideas...
  • Games, games, games.
  • Game Pass announcements (over 12 expected!)
  • Console features (the notable one here is the introduction of Xbox keyboard and mouse support.
  • Hardware announcements.
  • Maybe, just maybe a studio acquisition (Like that of X02).

Remember, this is not E3. Go in with reasonable expectations and you shouldn't be disappointed. Don't expect the world but do expect great games to be put on display, great conversations by Phil Spencer, and other Xbox leads as well as the developers representing their games.

This event will likely be a T-rated stream. Expect curse words to be censored and sexual content to be toned down, just like previous Microsoft presentations. Suitable for the family, for the most part.
