Getting some weird vibes this years #TheGameAwards

Rushing through 5 very important awards in a row. Meanwhile, Kojima gets 10+ minutes talking about a game that has no footage whatsoever.

No mention of the 7,000+ game developers that have been laid off.

I have a hard time reconciling playing Sam Lake off the stage after 30 seconds, or the publisher representing COCOON's devs after the same, but having a many minutes-long Kojima bit for a game that has literally nothing to show yet. That felt wrong, genuinely.

The funky thing I noticed was Kojima distancing himself from Jordan Peele. Geoff was hyping their colab too much so Kojima started talking about how Jordan was just one of the celebs. Felt so akward.

There's actually a lot here that looks good. Visions of Mana, Monster Hunter, suicide squad (hey it's the jedi from Fallen Order), GoW DLC, Ronin, Blade, Black Myth (holy shame), Exodus (wow, very interesting)

I mean it's not really the game awards job to talk about layoffs. I do agree the awards themselves were rushed and to much talking like with Kojima. I'd rather hear from actual devs who win and devs about new games revealed
