Weird trailer to be honest.
yeah, weird trailer indeed. i think it looks fine from the perspective of actually playing the game but marketing videos should highlight the best moments of the game. leaving a city, looking at a map, and fighting some trash mobs doesn't seems like a smart choice here.
either that or this is the best the game has to offer and it's gonna suck...
I don't think the gameplay itself looks terrible. I didn't actually realize how JRPG the game is, so that makes it more interesting for me.
But there are a bunch of weird issues:
Weird how long it takes to open and close the menu.
A fair amount of performance issues. There's still time though.
The map is black and dark gray for some reason.
A lot of people are bothered by how much she talks, but eh whatever.

Hopefully they can fix most of these issues before launch. Then it remains to be seen if the game is actually interesting heh. At least the effects look really cool

It looks like leaked gameplay, not a polished release. Hopefully not indictive of the final game quality.

i can't think of any game in recent history that has had soo much pre-release media explaining the game. ...and tbh they aren't helping to sell me on the game.

yeah i'm not blown away by what i've been seeing, but the idea and some of the gameplay looks really fun.
i'm really just hoping it plays a lot better than the media is explaining it. there seems to be a lot going on but every video keeps showing a horde of mobs that barely move while getting pounded on. i really hope that's like the absolute lowest difficulty just because the sales team sucks and not because the enemy AI is really that boring.
I'm already day 1. The magic and traversal looks rad. Would be nice if the story was good and open world had more to do but eh cannot have everything.

i'm really hoping this surprises us all and is a really good game. Not looking likely though. That demo while pretty fun to play, when you get the hang of it, looked freaking atrocious.
i'm hopeful for this. even if it's not the best game ever i think i'll get my $20 worth when i finally get around to playing it in 2026.

Anyway i saw they had patched the demo so going to try out again. I can already say they fixed the issue of the image quality being way overblown. That alone makes it look tons better. But its still not the best graphics. Up close near her models like foliage look pretty great. But background stuff is awful.
Idk, its pretty fun the more i play and with the image looking better i'm into it. Still will wait for reviews before i buy though.
So 9am we will start to know whether we are right and its not good or we are pleasantly surprised and it's a good game.

Dang it! FF15 was pretty cool at times and I was really hoping this would take the best parts and cut the fat.

1. forespoken flop
2. SE is dire financial straights
3. good guy MS will buy them
4. no more FF, DQ, KH, ect. games on playstation and MS so joyfully strives to bring these games to a wider audience.
After playing the updated demo and seeing some of the clips from people on twitter, im not gonna lie i kinda want to buy it. I think it has awesome potential as a new IP. Combat seems pretty good, but its the story that lacks.
plus i loved days gone and it only got a 71 on metacritic. soooo
fudge it I bought it. I had $15 in rewards between PS stars and my PlayStation Visa card so was only $55 and not the full $70

The character model for Fray looks really good, but dang the environments feel empty in a way. Like New York looks good, but it looks really sterile. haven't gotten far into Athia yet. Just got to doing magic and then called it a night.

Still gotta get back into this. I'm about 50% through i think. Its still a really fun game, but going back after hogwarts legacy it looks so terrible. Probably will be what i play this weekend. Need to get through some backlog before horizon DLC and Star Wars Jedi comes out.
