The latest issue of V-Jump has first details on Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory, the latest entry in the Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth series due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan in 2017.

Hacker's Memory is set in the same world as the original Cyber Sleuth and features a new story "on the other side of Cyber Sleuth." The protagonist is Keisuke Amazawa (name changeable), a young man who had to jump into the hacker world after he was made the criminal in a case he knows nothing about. Character designs look to again be by Suzuhito Yasuda.

The basic systems from the original Cyber Sleuth, including the Digi-Farm, will return, with various elements powered up. Over 320 Digimon will appear.

Bandai Namco will also include the original Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth with Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory as a pack-in title.

I wonder if the first game pack-in is Japan only since Bamco did that with SAO.

Pack-in? As in DLC?

The sequel will include the first game. Bamco did this with the SAO: Game Director's Edition, but it was only for Japan.

Wait what....really? :O

Why is that? Do they share the same world but with a different story or what?

They as in the Digimon games? From what I'm reading, it sounds like Hacker's Memory is actually either a prequel or an interquel, so it's in the same world as the first game. The protagonist is different.

Some world for these two Cyber Sleuth with different protagonist... the difference seems to be the first game you are a investigator and now you will be a hacker.

BTW the others Digimon games are in a parallel world.

Oh, I think I know why the first game is included with Hacker's Memory in Japan. It's because the first game never came out on the PS4 over there. It only got localized for the west and in Chinese Mandarin.

Are you saying the first game didn't come out in Japan?

Japan only got the Vita version. The PS4 version never came out over there. I checked on Amazon.jp and Play-Asia. A Japanese PS4 version of the first game doesn't exist, lol.

Oh...so no chance of it being packed with the 2nd game in the west :(?

Likely not... SAO: Hollow Fragment came out way later on the PS4 and Bamco packed in Re:Hollow Fragment with Lost Song in the Game Director's edition and they only did it for Japan.

I could be absolutely wrong though. Maybe the 2nd game will be included with Hacker's Memory in the west, so we just need to wait for the localization announcement.

Looks like localization will be much faster this time around.
