At 12:10, he talks about Amazon, Google, MS and Sony wanting to make acquisitions. Sony less so.

There's been a lot of talk about the industry undergoing major consolidation in the next few years. It's kind of terrifying.

i wish sony was moreso.   gaming is clearly moving to a place like the streamers.   content is mostly exclusive and the multi-service content is all old.  is sony is going to stay in the business they should see the writting on the wall, half the content needs to be playstation studios just like nintendo and what MS is clearly aiming for.  The other half is going to be "indies",  EA, ubisoft, and activision.  i don't see any of the other third parties really surviving or not being acquired.

bethesda was just a warning shot.

hell, even nintendo sees this.  the aquisition of next level games appears to be purely defensive to ensure the studio isn't purchased by ms or whomever..

at the very least sony should grab bluepoint and housemarq while they have a chance.

It's strange that during the PS3 gen, we started seeing fewer third party exclusives.

During the PS5 gen, it seems likely we could see more exclusives over the next few years.
