Dedicating a game to Japan risks massively losing out on sales in the westWell they don't have to "dedicate" it to Japan.
I'd love for them to try making a game like Final Fantasy, or more Bloodborne. Something that's definitely Japanese, but still pretty popular in the West.
But their western first party games practically do better in Japan than their Japanese ones. So understandably, it's hard to justify trying to do that.
On the other hand, Sony Music seemingly knows how to make games for Japan. SIE hasn't had the same kind of success, and it's not completely from a lack of trying. The market has been moving over to handhelds/mobile for a while, and SIE is investing in the things they've been able to be successful in.
