Title: Should there be a big biennial game show?
Post by: Legend on Jun 06, 2019, 01:41 AM
E3 is really great for games releasing within 12 months. The nature of the big shows however makes it kinda odd with games being announced years in advance but skipping some shows.

Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfied are skipping, Sony is skipping, etc.

Would it work better if the really big shows were every other year? This thread is inspired by the D23 expo.

no.  just give up on the  shows.

new hardware (like ps4) can do their own shows.  big games (like destiny) can do their own live streams.  smaller games can be included in nintendo/sony/ms directs.   really it is better for everyone.  announcing dozens of games in 2 days means most games get no attention and that most of the year has no news to enjoy.   spread the shame out, announce things only when they are ready to be announced.  win/win.
