based on what i'm hearing this is going to be a terrible sequel so i'll expect a 96.

Will give it this trailer before predicting a meta.

the cinamatic trailer looked a lot better than the gameplay demo.   but woof at the graphics,.. i'd wait for the remaster.  i don't mind the simple art style but all those jaggies are incredibly distracting.

Zelda reviews in general are such a joke. Skyward Sword has a 93 on metacritic somehow. The HD version only got an 81.

nintendo in general has a lot of bias in their review.   not saying they've never made a good game but nintendo can release a game with massive flaws that reviewers are quick to forgive.   like if anyone else released a game where the online was unplayable the game would be blasted but of smash brothers does it reviewers say "who cares,. why would anyone want to play online when couch play is soo fun!   95!"

I'll be honest, I tried playing Breath of the Wild twice. And I don't think I've gotten far enough to be wowed.  

I'm still unsure if I'm buying this. BOTW is one of my favorite games because it felt so honest and immersive at times. Meanwhile TotK looks like it threw that concept out the window so streamers could be even more zany.

i've attempted to play it 0 times but i also know the game is a bit divisive and i'm quite certain i'd land in the camp that like the legacy zelda more than BotW.  i don't really care about exploration,.. dungeons are what made zelda special.

I'll leave my judgement over Breath of the Wild aside; but seeing a trailer where they showed off pretty substantial dungeons made me change my mind on the game.

Not talking about the metacritic score. I'm gonna do this crazy thing where I read the text from reviews  8)

Although maybe it will be a redfall-lite situation. Some of the trailers are just so bad and what if that's exactly what we're gonna get?

no, nintendo bias is strong.   ...especially for their core franchises like mario, zelda, pokemon.   even very mid games score high 90s.

the game itself looks much better than BotW.   ...more like what i would want at least.   aka dungeons and "actual level design" exist now.

performance looks like crud but once again nintendo is given a pass.  applauding performance went there are dips to 20 fps is just,.. something else.

yeah really.   maybe they just didn't play Lego marvel superheros back on ps360 which had that feature a decade ago.  probably not even the first game to do it.

thank goodness Horizon burning shores launched first.   i'd find it soo triggering if nintendo fanboys spent then decade claming sony copied clouds from zelda.

Interesting. I'm still so negative on all the building mechanics but maybe they're fun enough for the stupidity to not matter.

Really weird how essentially nothing from the game has gone viral, except for the flaming lollipop build.

Am I the only one who really hates the weapon breakdown system? Put me off the first game basically. I'm sure I'll get back to it some day

Yep that's easily my biggest gripe from the first game. And its a system I hate in most games. I even didn't care for it in TLOU for the melee weapons but those were at least pretty abundant it was mostly fine

I didn't mind it till the late game. Early on I felt like I kept getting better and better weapons so it didn't matter but near the end I started to avoid clearing camps because it wasn't worth it.

It's why I started avoiding battles in Breath of the Wild.  It just wasn't worth it.  I finally finished it last week, and I was worried I was going to run out of shields when I was fighting Ganon.  I also needed the shields to push back the laser weapon he has.  Like, that's a terrible oversite on the dev's part (The last boss was probably the worst boss I've played in Zelda).
