Do you call yourself a gamer?

A lot of times Era will have people who really hate the term gamer. 
They avoid it as if it were some kind of synonym with sexist. 

There's even an Era thread about it:

I think it's bizarre.

I don't go around calling myself a gamer but if you asked me about it I'd say I am. That thread is just Era being Era at its worst point.

I think of myself as a game developer more than a gamer. I don't spend enough time playing games.

Nothing wrong with the term. A person can call themselves a tennis player even if they only do it as a hobby. Same with a person calling themselves a gamer even if they value other things too.

I think a lot of problems with the term come from people in the US thinking games are dorky and that liking them is cringey. So people who play games often want to avoid being grouped with "serious gamers."
