God of War Ragnarok’s first week boxed sales in the UK were bigger than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Elden Ring’s. This is just boxed sales, and digital may change that as CoD was a huge digital launch (download data arrives later). But still… wow.

Its week 1 boxed sales were 51% bigger than God of War 2018. It is already the third best-selling God of War of all time. 82% of sales were on PS5. It was also the biggest week for PS5 console sales of the year. The PS5/Ragnarok bundle was 12% of all Ragnarok sales

There might be some discrepancy.

Not sure if this is boxed sales vs all of God of War 2018, or boxed sales vs boxed sales.
The article makes it sound like the former.

God of War 2018, I believe was around ~96k, so this would put it around ~145k before digital.

Crazy sales. GTA5 might be the most successful game in history behind WoW. I wonder who generated more revenue/profit. I would think its WoW

RDR2 is an absolute monster. 50 million sales is insanely impressive. Its just been always overshadowed by GTA5 sales.

I really don't understand why rockstar didn't release a remaster/remake for RDR1 on PS4/xb1. Its such a wasted opportunity

Across European markets in January, PS5 sales are up 202% compared with the year before (when there were big stock shortages). PS5 was the No.1 console last month, Switch falls to No.2 (sales down 11% compared with Jan 2022), while Xbox Series S and X are No.3 (sales down 32%)
