Title: Now that VR has it, should eye tracking expand to PC monitors?
Post by: Legend on Mar 02, 2023, 05:45 PM
It could help a lot for regular games too. On top of all the same uses from VR, it could be used to create perfect motion blur. By tracking eye movements motion blur could be based off how fast something is moving relative to the player's gaze not relative to the screen.

Eye tracking probably wouldn't be worth it on consoles, at least not yet. TVs tend to take up a smaller field of view and if multiple people are watching a game, eye tracking stuff would need to be disabled.

Can that be used for anything besides mouse control though?

So demanding. :(

But I feel like that's more held back by the software not supporting it, and not so much a limitation on the eye tracking capabilities.
