Title: Crackdown 3: bet on the metacritic
Post by: Legend on Feb 05, 2019, 09:45 PM
Main Betting Thread (http://vizioneck.com/forum/index.php?topic=6810). Give a high, medium, and low prediction. Please see the main thread for a breakdown of how scoring works.

Crackdown 3 for Xbox One Reviews - Metacritic (https://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-one/crackdown-3)

IE you expect it to get a 95 so you set that as your middle. Then you set 97 as your high because you don't think the game has a good chance of scoring above that. Then you set 88 as your low because you don't expect the game to score lower than that.

Review embargo ends when the countdown ends. Feel free to post predictions and edit them up till that time.

I could see this being really bad or fairly decent. Impressions are all over the place.

I'd feel better about the game if it was $40. As a recore like title it could be pretty good.

I did the MP stress test today and it's pretty meh. I know there are better weapons and other modes that will be there saying but even if the SP is great, I can see the MP dragging the score down.

Plus I just don't get the critic scores for some Xbox games. SoD2 was a very good $30 game that scored a 66, barely higher than The Order.

Well I think I'll win this one. Previews were not hot.

They weren't bad though. I didn't realise that multiplayer wouldn't be included, and previews were more positive on that. People only get to play multiplayer tomorrow, so scored will be updated and more will be added. It should go up but not by much.

Its crazy that after all the delays this ended up turning out so mediocre. What was the point, in the end? Nobody is going to buy an xbox for this, and I can't see it selling well at all either. It might encourage a few people to try out gamepass, but that's about it.

Also saw a good point, Scalebound was cancelled for not being good enough, so if this is good enough to be released than wtf was going on with Scalebound?

Look at this interview and the end result, that we've arrived at.

Microsoft on Crackdown 3 delay: We want it to 'sit next to Halo, Gears' - Polygon (https://www.polygon.com/e3/2018/6/11/17451396/crackdown-3-delay-explained-microsoft-xbox-interview-e3)

It's the constant stream of releases like this, that make me feel nothing at MS' announcements of studio acquisitions. They have done absolutely nothing to show that these additions will pay out in anything worthwile.

That's the one I watched.

Lots of people were hoping the campaign would make up for the multiplayer so I have no clue if the metascore will go up or not.

Development of this game must have been weird. I'd love to see a postmortem to see how it all went down. This game has looked 90% finished for the longest time yet still launched in a similar state. In hindsight it might have been best to reboot development at some point but maybe they did.

Well nuggets always going to happen when an exclusive reviews badly. I think that thread's okay overall. Most of the arguing is over the definition of first party, which is just amusing.

62 on open after 55 reviews.

Of course it goes... I have no ideia what MS thought releasing a Indie game under the first-party AAA seal.

That's rad. None of this resembles anything close to what first party products should be all about. Instead of being an advert for xbox and a game for its fans to celebrate, its just a mess. Sure, many people will find it fun, but you can say that for most games.

I don't understand why that could happen. Assets seem to be shared between campain and multiplayer so it's not like they were made individually.

That was announced years ago that MP and SP was being released separately.

If I'm not wrong MP uses the power of Cloud for fully destructive environment... you can destroy everything.

SP not.

BTW SP and MP are handled by different developers.

The announcement years ago was different. A release like this is really weird even if multiple developers were working on the game.

Cloud destruction would work just as well if it was a single executable.

They announced that SP and MP will be released apart reach other.

Well in SP you are a hero that need to save the city... if you could fully destroy it you will basically break the game for SP progression I guess.

Just guesses of course.

"Multiplayer in Summer 2016" was all they said and they quickly went back on this.

If you weren't understanding, the weird part is that this game is shipped as a single disc yet shows up as two seperate apps once installed. Shipping the game as a single app wouldn't change anything. Cloud destruction would still be exclusive to multiplayer.
