I'm more bothered by the playlists not showing you the first video they're going to show.
I think I'm on an older version of youtube but yes every update always makes it worse

Oh no my extension that skips youtube ads stopped working!

It was so incredible. Automatically clicked the skip button the second it popped up. Hopefully it gets fixed.

Well it's still spring but yeah, it's getting hot. I spent most of yesterday doing yard work. Will be time to plant plants in a week.

No it's the first day of summer here
Usually it's not summery at this time here but the past few days have been great considering. At least in my part of the country. Snow and frost in many other places

Oh and I forgot to tell you guys I was in the USA, Boston, for a week until this Monday  8)

So no frozen bowl of water from the night before?

I assumed the equinoxes were pretty universal in European cultures.

How was Boston?

At least it's original.

I guess we're screwed here because it hasn't been freezing. It was just 2 weeks ago though.

Fun! Went to a huge conference which was great and did lots of shopping too. Weather was alright, like a decent Icelandic summer.  I even brought home an iMac and a Dyson vacuum due to the price being very favourable  8)

It's just a mockup, but it's fun to see. Wonder how this will compare to other robotaxi designs. Maybe roads are too chaotic, but I imagine backward facing seats at the front make more long term sense.

How do online stores stay in business? I don't know the last time my parents bothered fully reading a description before clicking buy. They have to return 90% of the stuff that arrives.

It's kind of weird to me how common bootleg tv series and movies are.

Walmart.com has a listing for Owl House seasons 1-3 blu-ray, this is a bootleg.
There's tons on Amazon, Walmart, and it's kind of surprising to me how not secretive it is.

It's also amazing how convincing some of the bootlegs are.

I got Modern Family the complete series. It was a little cheaper than the other listings, but it wasn't suspiciously so to me at least. Maybe there's a trick in there, that all of them are bootlegs, so the price doesn't arouse suspicion.

I started off a little suspicious just because the cases felt a little too sturdy. It also had a weird arrangement for 3 discs.
They had the expected inserts, the case artwork looked fine. The disc looked fine.

But I noticed after ripping that every disc was single layered, and I found a reddit post about it. They noticed that the new season they bought, had half the data of the other ones and worse image quality.

Some fun pseudo math.

1.) Movies/TV shows/music/books can be encoded in binary, to be viewable on a computational device. Which means they are very large numbers.

2.) These numbers aren't unique at all. You can re-encode them in different ways. You can basically have an infinitely large family of numbers describing your favorite TV show.

3.) You can take it a bit further, on your device and with regards to your perception, there are upscales and downscales are not noticeably different, as well as downscales that are noticeably different, but still recognizable. Which means there are infinitely large families of numbers that describe your favorite TV show, as well as a larger family where the numbers describe something that is still recognizably your TV show.

4.) You can also come up with lots of other properties. There's a number that's the smallest of these families.
Your favorite TV episode would be a substring of your favorite TV show, and your favorite line of dialog is likely a substring, or perhaps a combination of substrings.

Nothing crazy in here, but it feels funny to think of these things in terms of numbers.

That's some library of babel stuff you've got there.
