Avenger's numbers are not that strong (physical) at about 450k, compare that to Mario All-Stars physical numbers at 1.165m, less than 40% of Mario. Animal crossing did 180k.

really it makes sense that ps4/Xbox One would be waning in the lead up to next gen but i hate seeing switch leading by this much.  leads to such arrogant nintendo fans.

They are never not arrogant so best to just not bother with them.

I don't see many arrogant Nintendo fans but I'm still annoyed anyway. Annoyed because this is such a dire year for Switch software and its being rewarded with possibly Nintendo's best year for HW ever. On top of the low effort cash grab 3D Allstars doing insanely well. Just annoying all round.

>1M in March was amazing and felt deserved with AC but since then its just weird. I'm glad Switch is still doing well overall but Nintendo often takes the wrong message from things and now it might happen again here.

Guess this sets the record for longest consecutive months #1. 23 beats the 22 months xbox 360 had at #1.

What was PS4's longest streak? Also did NPD start after PS2?

PS4's longest streak as #1 overall was 10, in Jan-Oct 2014.

Its only after Switch launched that PS4 became more comfortably dominant against XB1 with win streaks of 13, 11, 11 and current streak of 9 (each interrupted by December where Sony doesn't seem to care as much anymore). In fact out of 7 Decembers they've been on the market together PS4 only won 2 (2015 and 2016), from 2017 onwards PS4 has always seen a sharp drop from Nov to Dec as Sony focuses most of the stock and gives the only discount in November, while xbox still push December a lot.

The months XB1 outsold PS4 are:

Dec 2013, Nov 2014, Dec 2014, April 2015, Oct 2015, July 2016, August 2016, Sep 2016, Oct 2016, Dec 2017, Dec 2018, Dec 2019.

Since Switch launched, PS4 beat Switch in:

May 2017, June 2017, Nov 2017, Feb 2018, March 2018, April 2018, May 2018, June 2018, Sept 2018, Oct 2018, Nov 2018.

So PS4 and Switch were very competitive 2017 and 2018 but Switch is on a long win streak now. XB1 has beaten Switch only twice: Nov 2017 and Feb 2018.

Here's another fun fact:

Switch has an estimate 4.9M YTD sales, which is bigger than any full year total that XB1 managed except 2015 where it sold 4.9M.

If Nintendo has the stock for it, Switch could reach a staggering 10M sales in the US this year. In Oct-Dec last year Switch sold 3.8M, just matching that this year would put Switch at a year total of 8.7M.

They also added they heard from other sources that about 55% of Avengers sales came from the US. Avengers was about 70% digital in the UK. Even being generous and giving it 75% in the US that would be 1.8M US sales and 3.3M worldwide total sales for Avengers, which would be a really bad first month for that game compared to expectations.

As for Mario, that's disgustingly good. Nintendo getting rewarded with a mountain of money for this shite is really pissing me off.
