Title: SpaceX engine did not explode, the test stand did
Post by: Legend on Nov 12, 2017, 12:10 AM
SpaceX to static fire Zuma Falcon 9; engine test anomaly no issue for manifest : spacex (https://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comments/7c9s97/spacex_to_static_fire_zuma_falcon_9_engine_test/)

The first article revealing the failure talked about an engine exploding during a test firing. They compared it to the 2 times SpaceX had a rocket explode and try to make it a big deal.

Even if the explosion happened like they reported it wouldn't have been that serious, but it turns out that the explosion was from an oxygen tank on the test stand while putting LOX through the engine. Shouldn't have any affect on their launch schedule, even for block 5 (the new engine that was being tested).
