I avoided Gigabyte for that reason.
Went with Asus this time.
The Asus board wasn't in stock if I remember correctly.  At the time. But the Gigabyte board was also 100 bucks cheaper.  Oh well.

I decided to say F it and get the GT 710.  So I could use my PC in the meantime.
Maybe someday soon I'll get an RTX 3070/3080.

That's a big ol cpu cooler. I always use stock ones so others surprise me.

Any leds in their? My computer is pitch black with just a faint blue light on the case for power. Wasn't expecting that.
As it turns out, there are some LEDs.

Underneath the motherboard, and they can be tweaked all kinds of ways.  Can even have it set up to change colors to the CPU temperature.

Didn't intend to get any LEDs, but they're kind of neat.

Why not get a 1050 Ti?  I think they're the same low profile.

Because it costs $400 right now.  And I'd rather get an RTX 3070 at that price.

$350:
Amazon.com: Gigabyte GV-N105TD5-4GD GeForce GTX 1050 Ti D5 4GB GDDR5 Graphics Card: Computers & Accessories

Actually newegg has a few for $300:
GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GV-N105TD5-4GD Video Cards - Newegg.com

Still, I don't want to spend a huge amount of money on a medium tier card.

I'm amazed how much graphics card prices have skyrocketed. Will things eventually be fully stocked or is this the new normal for a while?

It'll be this way for a while.  Doesn't sound like things are going to get better for months.

Best Buy seems to be doing the best about selling cards at MSRP, but they are limited to new cards.
Amazon is hard to say, they don't seem to have any cards.

Newegg seems to be charging like 25% more.
Ebay seems to be 2-3x the original price.

And of course everyone is stock limited.  Amazon sells out in seconds seemingly.

My mom is learning how to use a computer 8)

She was actually an early adopter and uses computers a lot, but she digressed since I became her tech guru. Lacks confidence for when unexpected things happen because I would just take care of them.

...what are you doing that needs a 24 port switch?

I only have a 6 port switch at my desk and a 6 port switch at my gaming tv.

I am not really doing anything that needs it.
I think I'd like to wire up my house at some point.

Maybe 2 ethernet ports for the living room, 2 in each bedroom or something, 2 wireless access points. Probably would only need like 12 to do that.

My brother in law set up my parents with one, I think it's a 24 port.  Most are unused.  But there are 3 to wireless routers, like 6 unused ports in the great room, 2 to my brothers room, 1 to the desktop, etc.

I just saw an article that stock probably won't stabilize until Q3. :(

That's bonkers.  That's barely cheaper than a 2060.
