March NPD 2020 - Switch has Highest March Ever (>1M), PS4 & XB1 up YOY, AC 3rd Biggest Nintendo Launch Ever

**IMPORTANT NOTE** Nintendo SW in NPD is physical only, so this means AC had the 3rd best physical launch for a Nintendo game. Digital is expected to be very high too....

Hopefully we'll get more detailed info with leaks but I doubt it. >910k is absolutely monumental, if it cracked a million then wowee. We also know its the best Q1 since DS 2010, so the range is 907k<Switch<1146k for now.

Another indicator of how crazy this month was: COD has its best March since 2010 as MW becomes the biggest game of 2020 so far.

like i said in a different thread,.. there was a huge run on all video game systems and games when the nation locked down.   nintendo certainly benefited from AC as well but it would seem to me that all systems should have a great month.   

from my additional trips to target over the last month only xbox as had any stock left and their stock was minimal.   i think april should also be a good month for gaming.

Yep. Covid + AC made for a big month.

Every where is sold out of Switches.  

Xbox and PS4 pros were all we had for a while.  Now we are sold out of Xboxes and we only had 1 PS4 pro left.

Before this, the biggest non-holiday month of the gen was Switch's 906k launch month of March 2017. Not counting that, these were the best non-holiday months of the 8th gen:

PS4 Sept 2014 - 538k
NSW Sept 2019 - 432k
PS4 Sept 2018 - 425k
PS4 Feb 2016 - 405k
PS4 Feb 2017 - 398k
PS4 March 2017 - 396k
NSW March 2019 - 383k

What Switch has just done is absolutely unreal. I wouldn't be too shocked to see Switch's April also beat all of these listed here. PS4 is also having a huge month apparently.

All we know is revenue for PS4 and XB1 was up over 25% YoY for both. Last year they sold 253k and 221k respectively.

PS4 and XB1 both >306k (XB1 >306k and PS4>XB1)
1000k < Switch < 1027k.

Obviously an excellent month for Switch and that's a nice and small range for how big the number us, but also a fantastic month for PS4 and XB1 all things considered. XB1's best March before this was 311k (2014).
