I think at this point it's like 95% sure to pass.

CMA dropped their console concerns. MS is wooing everyone to satisfy their cloud concerns.
Yeah seems its going through. Console industry is dead

SWORDF1SH (No, $1,000)
Legend (Yes, $100,000)
Nnodley (No, $100,000)
the-Pi-guy (Yes, $50,000)
Pezus (Yes, $50,000)
Bananaking (No, $100,000)

If the deal goes through: (x/200,000) * 401,000

SWORDF1SH => $0
Legend => $200,500
Nnodley => $0
the-Pi-guy => $100,250
Pezus => $100,250
Bananaking => $0

If the deal does not: (x/201,000) * 401,000
SWORDF1SH => $1995
Legend=> $0
Nnodley => $199,502 (.5)
the-Pi-guy => $0
Pezus => $0
Bananaking $199,502 (.5)

I eyeballed most of these, but I think they're right.

I feel like people understood how this went, but as I type this out, I realize I didn't actually specify that your bid is money you're putting in. So nnodley would get $99,502 if he wins, but he would lose 100k if he loses.

But if that seems too cold hearted, I don't care if it gets tweaked a bit.

But I thought this was fun either way.

Yeah I think Sony needs to start buying up devs and publishers.

I think they need to try and get take two, from and cdpr

kitler53

i think they're missing the obvious.

playstation is the only platform that MS will pull CoD from.   they don't give a shame about PC.   they only want to crush sony.

Sony really has a monopoly in one country when you take out the biggest competitor that controls like 90%* of the market.

*I don't actually know the number. I just know that Switch is absurdly massive to the point that it usually controls the entire top 30 games chart*
It's funny that this is the same senator that did a huge push for Blue Origin without understanding a thing about space. There's supporting local industry and then there's this lol.

I'm just excited to see this whole ordeal being done.

It will suck, but I'll be glad to see the bandaid pulled off anyways....

right...  within 6 months we'll hear about MS next publisher intends to acquire.

So you're saying we get a 6 month break from this nonsense?

Decisions from the majority of smaller regulators in 3-5 weeks (almost all of them will be approvals without remedies).

- Decisions from the CMA, EC and SAMR in late April - early May. The CMA is still the main obstacle there, but things look easier now.

- If everyone approves it, I think that MS will offer the same remedies to the FTC to sign a consent decree and be done with this merger by late June.

So when it turns out this deal limits competition, then what?

too late so it doesn't matter

Any degradation in the price, performance, or quality of play on PlayStation or any delays
on release would quickly harm SIE's reputation and cause a loss of engagement and of
players. As SIE's CEO, Jim Ryan, explained to the CMA at the Remedies Hearing, if
PlayStation received a degraded version of Call of Duty, it would "seriously damage our
reputation. Our gamers would desert our platform in droves and network effects would
exacerbate the problem. Our business would never recover."
Part of Sony's response to the CMA's decision.

A bit exaggerated. But its something MS can do, just have a gimped version on PS and just have everyone buy an xbox if they want to play CoD properly
